Hannah Wright is from Louisville, Kentucky and is majoring on Biological Sciences with the intent to attend medical school in order to become an obstetrician. Throughout high school, she was involved in volunteer organizations, such as the Lions Eye Foundation, Blessings in a Backpack, and Dawgs 4 Paws. Hannah also volunteered with the Lions Eye Foundation alongside her grandfather. During her sophomore year in high school two of my friends and I organized a food and school supply drive for the Newcomers Academy—a school for refugee children to teach them how to read, write, and speak English. During Hannah’s sophomore and junior years, she spent every Monday traveling to Indian Trail Elementary school to help assist teachers with lesson plans and to help tutor students. During her junior and senior year, she served as a member of Male High School’s Dawgs 4 Paws club where they made top and cat toys out of donated t-shirts, paper towel rolls, and toilet paper rolls in order to donate to local animal shelters around Louisville. Hannah plans to make the most out of her time at ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é and is grateful for the opportunity presented her by the Michael Francis Zalla scholars program.
