WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Elementary teaching requires a wide knowledge base. You will learn foundational theories about child development and schooling. Additionally, you will learn cutting edge methods for teaching and supporting children in learning to read and write effectively, apply mathematical skills, and achieve the processes and knowledge involved in social studies and science.

What You Can Teach

A degree in elementary education prepares students to teach students in the elementary grades, making you eligible for teacher certification in:

  • Primary to Grade 5 in Kentucky
  • Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5 in Ohio
  • Kindergarten to Grade 6 in Indiana

Accreditation

Our ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é Teacher Education programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.

Beyond the Classroom

As you work toward your degree in elementary education, you will invest at least 200 hours in elementary classrooms alongside experienced teachers, giving you valuable classroom experience in a variety of grade levels and school settings.
