Program Type: Undergraduate
This minor will give students in any major a base from which they can more deeply explore how AI affects their major field of study and their future careers. Students will get foundational knowledge of AI: how it works, how it is changing, how we interact with technology and each other, and how it informs, and is informed by, other disciplines. Students will learn about dominant algorithms underlying contemporary AI, explore modern predictive and generative AI tools, and examine the consequences of widespread AI use in different domains. This minor provides a basic foundation in computing, machine learning, and prompt engineering, supplemented with a look into the societal, ethical and legal implications of AI. Electives in psychology, philosophy, and newly emerging special topics classes across all ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é colleges add perspective.
