The NIRC's roots reach deep into the local community. Established in 2006, the NIRC is the direct result of a University Community Partnership Grant from ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é (ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é). Currently, we are still collaborating within our strong partnership with St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Grant initiatives have resulted in the establishment of interdisciplinary relationships with local health care providers and non-profit agencies. NIRC has expanded the impact of applied nursing research throughout the Northern Kentucky area through partnerships with the Rho Theta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Nursing Honor Society and community health care agencies such as St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the Northern Kentucky Independent Health District.
NIRC has introduced the research process to hundreds of novice nurse researchers and students. Structured workshops, seminars, and professional meetings focus on the utilization and application of research within our own community by Registered Nurses (RNs), and ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é nursing faculty and students. Through our partnerships, community-based interventions have been developed that will employ primary prevention strategies designed to improve the health status of Northern Kentuckians.
