Almost all visitors will fall into this category. This is a tour for families or individuals. A separate tour reservation should be filled out for each prospective student.  Schedule a Norse Day Daily Visit by going to visit.nku.edu.

We have customized our visits to give students and families the information they will need at the time they are visiting.

You will have a 45 minute information session followed by an hour and 15 minute walking tour of campus.

An academic session is an opportunity for you to meet with representatives from your major of interest. These sessions last about 30 minutes and allow you to obtain more specific information on your major as well as ask any questions you may have. These are led by faculty and staff and take place at various locations across campus. You will receive location information at check-in for your Norse Day Daily Visit.

We have tours on select Saturdays in the Fall called Black and Gold Open House. 

• Visits with an Admission presentation, tour, lunch and academic session: 3.5-4 hours
• Visits with an Admission presentation, tour and lunch (optional): 2.5-3 hours
  

Yes, all campus tours are walking tours.

The tour is given by trained current students who are able to give guest an insight into ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é’s history, university buildings, university traditions, and provide their own perspectives of the ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é student experience.

No, there is not a fee for a campus tour.

We request that you make a reservation for a campus tour online at visit.nku.edu. This will help the Office of ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é & Welcome Center estimate how many people will be on each tour. We try to limit the number of people so we can offer you the best campus tour experience possible. This also gives the student and their family more time to spend on campus and more opportunities to ask their admission counselor questions.

• The fall semester (August - December) is always the busiest season for tours.
• In the spring, March and April are usually the busiest months.
• Monday and Friday are generally the busiest days of the week because of their proximity to the weekend.
• Please remember, many high schools all over the country often take the same holidays. These days are a great time to visit our campus; however, they can fill up quickly. To ensure your spot on a tour, make a reservation today.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail if you provide a valid e-mail address to us when scheduling your tour. This e-mail contains very important information about your visit. Please print this e-mail for your records. It contains your visit check-in information and parking instructions.

Since this action cannot be performed online, you should call our office at (859)572-1400 to see if your reservation can be moved to another day or time that is not already full. We can also cancel your visit reservation if you are not able to come. Cancelling your tour allows your space(s) to open up to other visitors. Please DO NOT submit another tour request to cancel a tour; doing so makes a duplicate tour reservation.

Our tours leave rain or shine, cold or hot, so make sure you're comfortable as you walk around our beautiful campus. Your confirmation email will include a link for an update on weather at ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é. Dress for the tour is casual. Remember, the tour is a walking tour, so wear comfortable shoes! For tours during the summer months, you may want to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen or a combination of all three. If rain is in the forecast, don't forget an umbrella or poncho!

If you choose to register for an academic session with your visit, you will be meeting with representatives from your major of interest. If you know that you would like to meet with someone in an academic major  outside of an academic session, we strongly recommend that you make an appointment with that specific college BEFORE you arrive to campus.

This tour is for large groups of high school or college-aged students who are visiting campus together. Group tours can also be arranged to include an information session with an admissions counselor and a tour of campus.

Group visits are offered throughout the year. Please contact our Welcome Center at welcomecenter@nku.edu to schedule a Group Visit.

High school grades 9th - 12th or college transfer students can be accommodated.

Yes, you must make a reservation for a Group Visit. Please contact our Welcome Center at welcomecenter@nku.edu to request a Group Visit and include the following information:

• Contact information (name, address, phone number)
• School or organization name
• Grade level and number of students attending
• Date(s) you would like to visit ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é

Group tours tend to fill up quickly, we recommend your group representative contact us a couple of months before the time you want to come visit. You will receive a confirmation email when we have confirmed the tour date and time you want to come is available. The confirmation email contains very important information about your visit.

We will try to accommodate your request depending on availability. Please email our Welcome Center at welcomecenter@nku.edu to see if your request can be honored.
