A: Students performing clinicals, practicums, externships, and job shadows in the College of Health and Human Services.

A: ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é is contractually bound to our health care partners. Our local health partners have implemented system-wide mandates for COVID-19 vaccinations for all employees, physicians and volunteers. This requirement extends to all students who will be completing clinical rotations within these organizations. Because clinical experiences are the foundation of your educational program, receiving a COVID-19 vaccination is the only way to successfully meet partners’ compliance requirements to complete your degree program.

A: Students must be fully compliant according to deadlines set by their programs prior
to entering into a clinical setting moving forward.

A: Proof of vaccination will be required prior to starting clinicals; students should follow the compliance deadlines set by their program of study.

A: Vaccines are available on campus through the Student Health Clinic located in the University Center, Room 440. There is no charge to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccination appointments are required and can be made by calling (859) 578-5660. Students can also visit to find a COVID-19 vaccine nearest to you.

A: Proof of vaccination should be submitted through PreCheck® via SentryMD.  Students can upload PDF documents by using one of these options:  Submit as a PDF attachment via email to ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é@SentryMD.com or upload using the Secure Student Uploader at .  

A: ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é does not have any alternative clinical experiences that can be offered to students to complete the clinical portion of your degree program beyond a clinical placement for those students who are unvaccinated for any reason.    

 

A: No. ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é has been made aware that not all health systems will allow for this type of exemption.

A: ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é will allow students to request exemptions and will retain exemption request records to submit to health care systems. Medical exemptions must contain physician documentation and exemption requests due to deeply held religious beliefs must be notarized. Both types of exemption requests will be maintained in the student file.  Please contact Dr. Christian Gamm, Assistant Dean for more information.  

A: Exempted individuals may be required to undergo weekly COVID-19 testing by the facility they are placed at; adherence to the facility testing requirements is the sole responsibility of the student.  All students exempted must sign a waiver acknowledging the risks associated with the exemption.   

A: The facility will determine who can perform the COVID-19 weekly testing if required.  Weekly testing is paid for by the student, not by ÎÞÂëÇ¿¼é. Documentation needed for COVID-19 testing must include type of test (PCR or antigen), entity issuing the result (laboratory, healthcare entity, health provider with credentials), specimen collection date (a negative test result must show specimen was collected with the 3 days before the first clinical day of the week), information identifying the person who was tested (full name plus one other identifier such as date of birth), and test result.
